Need suggestions for "raucous"' jazz.

Need some high energy instrumental jazz for the next week. Finals, grading, freakin' Canvas hack cost me a day.

Here is an example of what I mean by "raucous", as it develops not so much from the get go.

Lots of big band, raucous, but I am looking for other examples. Big band suggestions are fine though.

Raucous jazz? The beginning and end of raucous jazz is surely Sun Ra Arkestra.

David Mengual's Free Spirit Big Band can be raucous. I only learned about them just recently. Some pretty cool approaches to coordinating and freeing big band resources.

Art Ensemble of Chicago could be relied upon for some raucous jazz.

A number of my personal favorite raucous jazz players appeared together in a band called Last Exit in the 1980s. A supergroup that, contrary to the way it often works, was more than the sum of its parts.

I don''t remember anything that happens when I am grading final papers and exams. Couple thousand pages, hard deadline. I get in a zen flow state and just do. For hours every day.

I've put on albums, and then blinked, and the album is over. But lots of numbers put on assignments in that blink.

I'll listen to things, listen listen, next week. But Mingus and Hiromi are long time favorites of mine. So far, about 50/50 for known/unknown (artists) on the suggestions so far, which is a great mix!
