Need integrated amp: 100 W+ into 4 Ω, headphone amp, ≤€1 k, SINAD ≥100 dB

I’ve had the AsciLab C6Bs in my system for two weeks now, and honestly, I feel like I’m in heaven!

Because of a packed schedule lately (work and sport activities), I haven’t had the chance to run a full suite of REW measurements yet. However, I did manage to do a basic Room Fit using my Dayton iMM-6C external mic.

I’ve also focused heavily on the physical setup. I cleared out the room, removing large wardrobes and unnecessary furniture to achieve better symmetry. The speakers are currently on stands in an equilateral triangle pointing toward my listening armchair, with the tweeters positioned exactly at ear level. For placement, they are 40cm from the behind wall and 60cm from the side walls.

The improvement is massive. The sound is incredibly clear and precise. Most impressively, the bass is physically present and deep without any hint of "boominess" or bloat. It’s a night-and-day difference. I’m absolutely thrilled with these speakers...

Just ordered the Arendal 1961 Subwoofer !!!

Estimated delivery is May 5th to May 10th.

The AsciLab C6B already has good and present bass when placed well in the room; I must mention that the more I listen to them, the more I like the sound they produce.

But when the Arendal 1961s arrives...

How much exactly? I sometimes hit natural speakers limiting in the lower subwoofer range. Above the subwoofers, a 15" woofer and waveguide with a large or medium-sized compression driver will be sufficient for most home systems.
In the good old days, speaker datasheets sometimes listed the output acoustic power :cool: . For example "output acoustic power 1 W". This could be 92 dB sensitivity and 100 W electrical input power.

Hm. How do you measure "acoustic power" easily?

The long established standard (dB/W/m) makes things easy. You can just measure your usual listening level and distances and then rather accurately estimate how much power you need for a given speaker. How is "1W acoustic power with 100W input power" helpful for a buyer?

It's easier for a buyer to read acoustic watts in units than hundreds or thousands of electrical watts.
It's simply romantic to recall ancient times.
One can exercise his\her brain by multiplying, for example, 100 watts by eta of 1% to get 1 watt; or 935W*0.18%=1.683 W..
In any case, the buyer listens to acoustic power, regardless of the electricity used to generate it.
