need help with a stubborn tweeter connector

hey bros, I need to disconnect this tweeter and what looks like simple push-on connectors for positive and negative leads, are really not wanting to come off by simply pulling (and I don't want to force them). It looks like there is some sort of retent involved (the clip with the small triangle in the middle) ? Do I have that right? Is there a tool for releasing this? I tried slipping in a very small screwdriver but I can;t seem to pull it up. I can wiggle the whole connector from side to side though.

Press that dimple with a pick or a small screwdriver while you pull.

Press it outwards from the magnet side!
 
FYI & FWIW: ow feels like a good time to mention that dental picks are invaluable tools in the armamentarium! :cool:
Since there's very little high voltage in typical humans' buccal regions, dental picks are not insulated -- so please do bear that in mind! :eek:

This female termination got a bit mangled in the process of disconnecting, and no longer securely holds to the male, so I'd like to replace it, but for the life of me I cannot find this particular locking type female disconnect terminal online. Any leads? {The male terminal has a hole in the middle that accepts the detent button on the spring-loaded middle part of the female terminal)
 
It shouldn't have to lock. Some of us :rolleyes: will - gently! - crimp the connector down onto its mate with a pair of pliers upon installation just to make sure it's snug and it'll stay that way.
Note that I'm not advocatin', I am just sayin'.

Just measure the width of the male spade terminal. These are normally pretty standard and most females should fit. You can buy such things in car parts stores. The detent thing doesnt matter unless you have an interest in tugging at the wire for fun - normally it's a strong friction fit. Crimp or solder the lead (or both) onto the new female terminal, but don't crimp the female part onto the male part as it will mess it up.
 
OCD and hifi hobbyism definitely go together!
(and I am being neither facetious nor disparaging!)
