hii everyone

i never have bookshelf or monitor speaker before and my knowledge about speakers, cable , plug and port also minimum , i planning to buy a pair of kurzweil ks50a monitor speaker for listening music not for mixing or recording.
currently i using a sony pcm d100 recorder as my home and portable DAP.

1. can i use my d100 recorder as source to ks50a? (in this case if possible i dont need to buy another desktop dac amp for the speakers , afterall i like my d100 sounding )
2.kurzweil ks50a using XLR / TS 1/4” combo connector, balanced / unbalanced input , i found some cable on marketplace like a dual mono xlr or ts to 3.5mm cable , can i use this to connecting d100 to the speakers? which one should i get either xlr and ts plug?

4.i heard many bad things about connecting active speakers directly to dap or phone which will result dap or phone will be damaged due huge power from the speakers , is it true? is it safe to connecting my pcm d100 to the speakers? i dont want to harm my d100 since it's rare to get nowaday and also expensive.

thanks in advance

I don't know the d100 or ks50a directly, but assuming they both follow usual practice for line out and line in they should work together as you want. line out or headphone out on the d100 to the input of the ks50a - my guess is the line out is fixed level and the headphone variable, so which one you want to use depends on whether you control volume with the d100 or the speakers. The 1/8" TRS to 2x1/4" TS jack cable is almost certain to be wired as needed. The XLR version is harder to predict. There should be no huge power coming out of the speaker's input! If you're worried then test the speakers using anything cheap with a headphone output.
