I think I'd like a camera for my motorcycle. I'd like something easy to use, waterproof, and I'd prefer not to spend a lot. GoPro 10 or 11 is about the level I'd like. Thing is I don't want to spend that kind of money. Can anyone recommend another brand / model that might fit the bill at a lot less?

I think the only other serious options in that category are insta360 and DJI osmo. I personally bit the bullet and got a GoPro 12 secondhand and don't regret it. It works well, the UI is thought out pretty well, the video looks great. I think you should be able to get one of the GoPro options used if there is any decent secondary market near you. They are really durable so all you need to watch out for is cracks or bad seals.

Thanks. Used is a good option.

I use Sony who seemed to have abandoned action cams. Depending on your use case check out drift ghost. The are said to work fine and are inexpensive.

I've been using the Firefly 8 SE for several years. For some time I wanted to switch to Sony, but the manufacturer has dropped the support for action cameras, as keith_h has already said.
My needs are quite simple: I wanted to make fishing videos. In my experience I can say that the camera suits me almost everything: it has good sound quality with an external microphone, the detail in 1080p format is also quite good for the price, plus it's waterproof.

But I have to say that I have two main issues with it:

- sharp narrowing of the angle of view when stabilization is switched on;
- video pixelation when stabilization is turned on.

Otherwise, it's a good device.
