Need desktop speakers for video editing

I'm in the market for new speakers for my desktop for video editing purposes. I'm currently editing with AT m50x and want to get a pair of speakers again - in the past I had KRK Rokit RP5 G4 which to me were sufficient for my needs (I do not edit high end professional projects but mostly stuff that ends up on Youtube and socials).

My budget is up to 300€ for the speakers and I'm eying the next choices:

- KRK Rokit RP5 G4 (used) as I was satisfied with them
- Adam T5V
- Kali LP-UNF
- Edifier MR5
- Yamaha HS5

There is no plan to add a subwoofer, the room is about 14m2 and not sound treated and I can position the speakers about 50-60cm from the wall.

I do have an option to get used M-Audio BX8 D3 for free but have not used them yet as I'm thinking they might be too big for the small room - am I wrong here?

Can you maintain a listening distance of at least 70-80 cm while maintaining at least 10 cm from the wall when using these? If so, they should work. They seem like decent speakers, particularly if you give them a bit of EQ (as so often the case):
For free? No-brainer. You'd have plenty of budget left for a measurement mic / setup then. (MMM recommended.)

For a 14 m² untreated room and a budget around €300, the options you’ve listed each bring something different. The KRK RP5 G4 have a strong low-end but aren’t as neutral as the Kali LP-UNF or Adam T5V, which offer good midrange clarity for editing. Yamaha HS5s are compact and may need a sub for full bass. The M-Audio BX8 D3 are solid but can overpower a small desk setup unless you have enough space.
