Hi fam, I just got two kc62 for my LS60. My listening area (not including the kitchen) is 400cm width x 400cm x 270cm height. Im very very new to audiophile.
1. According to my room layout, is 2 subs really making a difference compared to 1 sub? I did test them in various position with a bass sweep from 20hz to 60hz, there is always seem to be a little “bommy bump” sound at around 40 - 50z. The bass is kinda louder in that frequency. 2 subs sounds a little deeper to my ear, but I don’t know if it’s placebo or not.

2. What is the potentially best spots for 1 sub / 2 subs for my room? I tried the sub crawl method and the black sub is placed at the optimal position according to my ear.

Thanks for helping me out.

1. REW room simulator
2. In 2.2 close to the back wall and in line with mains but that would need a lot of DSP-ing (room mode you hear in first question, digital crossovers, FR, decay times and so on). No DSP-ing a meter right in front of you one next to other 2.1.

I would try placing them between mains and measure their response.

If there are some big nulls at the listening position only then look for a different placement. Boosts can be EQed out.

minidsp Umik measurement mic.

Another interesting position could be left and right to the MLP/sofa. Looks like you are in the flat and such nearfield placement provides benefit of you hearing subs louder while neighbours not. Each meter of distance is some 3dB loss in SPL.

What are you using as preamp/AVR? As noted, subs should be integrated between themselves and with mains.
