that's where 30" stands set mine, for reference the monitor is 43"
Ok yes that's about where I measured but I was measuring from the table. It would sit around the same spot on my deskView attachment 493019

I was hoping to keep it on my desk and not on the side but that was only because my desk is so wide30" is a pretty safe bet since most desks are 29-30" tall. The important thing here is how you sit. I have a tendency to kind of slouch back in a relaxed manner, so my ear is sitting lower most of the time than it would if I was sitting bolt upright writing something. For games and watching content my tweeters are dead on where my ear sits and the soundstage is so good it convinced me to skip the center channel for my next living room setup, I'm just going 4.1
I also have a sit/stand desk and have iLoud MTMs mounted on modified monitor arms (along with monitors and laptops) for that reason...Edit: My desk is also a sit/stand desk so that was the reason for keeping it on there

Awesome got it. My setup is 3 monitors and I'm not sure if I should have the speakers above the monitors as with the way I have my monitors set up, its kind of encasing. From an ergonomic perspective, the top of your monitor should be at the same height as your eyes. Your ears are at the same height as your eyes, so the tweeters will be around the same height as the top of the monitor if you follow this advice.
There are lots of pictures of ASR members desktop setups in this thread, including several iterations of my own desktop.

Your Desktop Audio Setup?
I think it would be entertaining to see what members have for their setup. I thought of making a thread asking what I should get but I didn't think it would be as fun seeing what other members have and to generate ideas for my new desk setup in my small bedroom.www.audiosciencereview.com

LP-6 V2 is a great choice!Kali Audio LP-6W V2 6.5"
I was thinking of 2 of those. Is that a decent choice?
Thank you so much. This helped me a ton. Realizing that while I'd like to get the LP-6 v2's, they are going to be very large for my desk. Since I do have a size consideration for my desktop, the D3V might be the best optionSize comparison of HS8 vs. LP-6v2 vs. D3V

"One of these is not like the others."
It goes without saying that in terms of level handling, a 3" class speaker will struggle to keep up even with a mediocre 6.5" job (which the LP-6 woofer definitely qualifies as), especially in the bass. These little ones are aimed at desktop use around 0.5 m (20") away and will deliver decent output then. The sweetspot for HS8s doesn't even start until around 0.7 m (28"), and that's geared more towards nearfield use to begin with.
I bought a pair of JBL 305p MKII before I realized they were too large for my old desk and that I couldn't live with the hiss from them. Luckily I was able to return them for a full refund.Thank you so much. This helped me a ton. Realizing that while I'd like to get the LP-6 v2's, they are going to be very large for my desk.
