Hello all, I have 2 Pioneer XDJ 1000mk2's, for the uninitiated those are standalone DJ controllers, like Pioneer CDJ's but much cheaper. I plug these into my Allen & Heath XONE PX5 mixer, along with 2 Technics 12000 turntables, and I mix bass heavy dance music as a hobby. I have found that my vinyl sounds better than my XDJ's due to the quality of the phono amps on my mixer vs the DAC quality on my XDJ's, and figure I can work around the sound quality difference with the optical outputs on my XDJ's.
I haven't really been following unbalanced DAC's since I switched to balanced years ago, but my mixer only takes unbalanced inputs. Is there a reasonably affordable pair of unbalanced DAC's I can get, that aren't too large, to plug into my mixer to increase the sound quality? Not looking to spend more than $200 per unit. They would need to have optical inputs, no need for USB, preferably smaller power bricks due to the space I'd need to plug them into. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
