Please tell the history of your National anthem!
Suomi (eng. Finland) - Vårt Land / Maamme
Suomi declared independence 103 years ago, December 6th 1917. The anthem was born much earlier in 1846-8 - Finnish poet J.L. Runeberg wrote "Vårt Land" in Swedish and German-born F. Pacius made composition for it by loaning an old German drinking-song melody! Finnish lyrics was a collaboration and were refined a couple of times. Estonia use same melody for national anthem "Mu Isamaa"

ps. I found this modernized version too
