Naim Uniti Atom HE power amp suggestion + Apple Music

That’s a choice. Neutral properly measuring headphones are very rare. Not focusing primarily on the frequency response gives you loads more options and applying EQ will in the end give you a better result even on the supposedly neutral headphones. In the end it’s probably cheaper, and gives you more options to customize the sound to your liking. Of course searching for neutral headphones is all good if you like that :) The Naim will suit you just fine in that case. It’s not a bad piece of kit at all, just a fairly expensive one.
I have equed a lot my headphones. e.g Fiio FT5 is possibly to match 100% Harman curve.
It sound still better without eq. Eq kills headphones soul.
Neutral sound is not my thing.

Though Sash Tres SE(with thinner membrane) is very close to neutral without eq.

I don't eq Fiio or Sash. And i have DCA Noire X on order.
It's better have different headphones than doing eq, imo.

This forum has that additude "if it costs more, it has to be rubbish".
That is so pathetic.
That’s just wrong. There are lots of expensive recommendations on offer here, but they rely on objective performance and not some immeasurable component that only can be extracted through esoteric notions. It’s just foolish to pay more for poorer performance.
People come here for facts and data.

You seem like you wanted to join up and immediately tell folks how wrong they are for believing in science over subjectivity. On a site completely designed around the science of sound, how far do you feel that approach is going to take you?

It's foolish to pay poorer soundquality.
Example: Eversolo DMP-A6 measured "ok" in this forum. But soundquality was rubbish.
I couldn't listen music with it.
Adding external dac was a BIG improvement.

Did you look at the gear whilst listening?;)

I’m not sure how many people I have come across that felt like they could differentiate between different dacs, amps and streamers….yet when they were sat down at a proper blindtest the magic simply disappeared. They lost their audiophile powers. Heck I was one of them!
I hope you stick around, read through some threads on ASR and learn some stuff. Continuing the subjective ‘I trust my ears and denounce science’ route will get you nowhere fast here.
Best of luck going forth:)
I’m out.

Speechless.
I'm leaving.
Well that was easy.
Don’t let the door hit ya

So glad I don’t work in audio, where you can apply all your design know-how to making capable hi-fidelity devices, and still have buffoons trash them based on some purported lack of “musicality” they could not possibly quantify or provide evidence of because it’s entirely inside their heads.

No technical knowledge and no desire to gain any, I think they simply enjoy their puerile conversations, the thought that they might be robbed by actual knowledge is probably quite distressing.

I don’t know about that. Maybe because it’s a single device offering everything. If you compromise on that, you can get some for way less. A WiiM Ultra is an excellent streamer and offers EQ (the Naim doesn’t as far as I can see). Add one of the well tested headphone amps and you have a combo that will easily rival the Naim on functionality and performance for well below $600.
As a naim user i can say the only special thing about the naims is the cool weird din cables.
I also enjoy the humming transformer and the ability to spend money on power supplies

Got rid of my expensive power cables and from the money both LPs and food and stocks… yeah that much and replaced them with upmarket 30€ power cables made from ofc copper …. No difference whatsoever …. Except the cables are flexible and easy to use now and don’t feel like a giant python.
