NAD T799 Surround AVR (competent for DLART with up to 4 subs)

They say in the video that it will be called T799.

But it has class D amplification, which is quite unique.

Release for “after the summer”….. remember guys this is NAD, as they didn’t qualify which summer…. probably talking about summer 2025 or 2026! ;)

They mentioned it first in 2019. What a joke.
BTW it would be a real bummer if the T778/758/777 would not get a 4 sub MDC card.

Correction:
T789 is the prototype identification.
T799 will probably be the series identification ;)

I bought one of thier products recently and it was poorly made. I mean it failed after a month and was cheap plastic. The WIiM was 400 dollars cheaper and it blows the NAD out of the water. I would love a high end avr that was made with class D amps. I think NAD does neat stuff but am not sure about the execution.

The T799 features NAD's new Dynamic Digital Headroom (DDH, known from the M66) technology, which eliminates clipping between samples (intersample peaks) of the digital signal.

I translated HXOPlus website from greek to english:

Out of the box, I´d probably swap the fan for a Noctua.

Really??

Yeah. The WIiM will play a stereo track with a small sub in my room at about 80db. It is perfect for listening and sounds better than the avr. I like the product. The NAD 3045 just had to many issues..same idea but the WIiM app works really well. Target sells them. I

Yea an 8k price tag on a NAD? Look back at thier last ten years of product lines and find me something successful and stable. They have a lot of good ideas that were not worked out well. My last few comments were made fun of when I was talking about WIIM? Yet thier ultra streamer is killing it, thier amp line is also killing it, etc. You can buy both at Target. They are making high quality products aimed at Sonos not nich audio brands like NAD. I would love to see NAd make real limes of products the way Marantz and Denon do. Not a multiplicity of amplifiers and a few avrs. Maybe this time. ..

Everything I have bought from NAD/(Bluesound) in the last 10 years runs well and stable. I can reassure you. Even my old NAD 310 is still going very well.
Of course, a WIIM is no comparison to a NAD M66 or Bluesound Node Icon with Dirac Live ...and the amplifiers certainly not against the Purifi-based ones from NAD.

Not sure if it will be competitive with the Cinema 30.

It has Dirac out of the box and Blusound works a lot better than Heos; but both are software and that is something Marantz could scale up with relative ease.

Unfortunately, Marantz still relies on class-ab for this AVR. The disadvantages are well known. From my point of view, no real competition for the NAD T799.

I have wondered about a class D avr. I just have not been a fan of NAD and they have been the only company seemingly to want to adapt that style of thinking except JBl. I need to review the products that have out as I saw them in a brick and mortar. I think
