NAD M66 - finally someone makes a decent 2-channel preamp!

But Trigger in kills the whole M66, including the BluOS section, so you can't trigger in M66 from CD player, and at the same time start it via BluOS streaming. The whole M66 is gone from BluOS if you connect trigger in.
Yes that would be the case, as trigger normally takes away the entire power supply, so the same as operating the rear panel On Off switch. But triggers are normally initiated by the preamp so that power amps, sources (and in my case the amps in my hybrid speakers) are turned off or on when triggered to do so by the preamp.

I agree in general. What are the two trigger in sockets of the M66 for then?

This allows you to set up a real HT bypass and remove the M66 from the power amplifier and de-energize it. This device would be suitable for this: Link

I know this device. Please elaborate on what you meant. Real example please.

Examples can be found in the manual for the switch.
In reality, depending on the setup, a trigger sequencer, inverter, ... may also be required.

My NAD M66 is gone. I am officially free of M66!
I simply could not make it work in my system and for my requirements because of its shortcomings and software issues.
Good luck to all present and future owners of NAD M66!

I will be following this thread... for one reason only. I want to know if HT Bypass ever gets implemented in M66.

Bobwire is the better solution in my opinion. Why should you route the signal through an additional pre amp?
This only makes sense if a power amplifier is also installed in the device.

Does anyone know when the USB module for the NAD M66 is ready? Which power amplifier do you people use with the M66?

I used NAD M27, when I had the M66. While M27 is a good amp, it was not enough for my Sonus Faber speakers.

M66 is now $6999 in the US

$1500 increase

I use a McIntosh MC152 with PS Audio Aspen FR5s speakers. I like this set up very much but I'm looking to possibly get the M23 and match the 152 with my Node Icon.

I think the Anthem SRT pre-amplifier is a better solution?

Indeed it is! I got rid of my M66 and ordered Anthem STR pre + amp. I am still waiting on delivery, but on paper (documentation), it will finally and properly integrate in my home theater (with two subwoofers). Also, I am glad it has no streamer, as I can chose my own streamer. In my case it will still be a Blusound streamer. I will feed one of my existing - either the Node Icon or the Node X into the Anthem STR via digital coax at fixed volume. Done!
