Anyone know if this can use subwoofers but not use a high pass filter on the main speakers?

This might be more of a Dirac Bass Control question, not sure. But when I read about the M33 v1, I learned that if you use any subs then there’s always a high pass filter for the mains.

I have a weird setup in a large (20’x50’?) open room. I have repurposed some now-unused ceiling speakers as poor-man’s subs (with large Revel fronts), just to get some extra bass. Not *necessary*, but nice enough that I have held off swapping my complicated set of separates for an m33.

I’d love to put huge real subs in the room, but there’s no good spot for them, unfortunately.
The M33 V2 has both single ended and balanced preamp outputs, so one could run subs (perhaps even 4 of them) from these and ignore the sub outs that require the Main Outs to accept the same XO as the Sub Outs, so the M33 V1 and V2 (and M66 for that matter) are unsuitable for full-range speaker owners such as you and me if the Settings state there are subs present.

With Pre Outs used for the subs, the main speakers would remain with a full-range signal and the subs would need to be XO'd by their own built-in amps. Also the subs could retain a stereo signal and not be forced to offer mono only - as happens with the Sub Outs in M33 and M66!

I'm warming towards the V2, possibly in preference to the M66 with power amps.

I love the design of the m33, but I'd still rather spend 6500 on speakers.

And I do wonder sometimes if I could distinguish between, say a Denon avr of similar power and the m33 in a blind test. My guess is I could not.
I'd suggest this depends largely on the quality of your speakers and their ability or otherwise to deliver life-like music.

Before buying my M33, I home auditioned a dozen ss amps or all-in-ones and was surprised at how much difference there was in sound delivery when driving my Avantgarde speakers. Some sounded truly dull and uninspiring, while others got the goosebumps rising. These were all in the £3-8K range powering my £30K speakers after I decided to move away from SET amplification.

The only real rivals to the M33 were the GamuT D200 Mk III (Class AB) and the Accuphase A-36 (Class A), although the latter was perhaps a little too "polite". No regrets with the M33 purchase and so pleased I ditched the first amp I purchased that was raved out by a fellow Avantgarde owner, who (it later turned out) was obsessed by signal to noise ratios and other measurements over and above the feeling of being at live performances!

It looks like some online dealers show the NAD M33 v2 in stock ready to ship at $7199. There were some posts that the price would be $5995.

There is no mention of Dynamic Digital Headroom (DDH), a feature present in the M66?

Sure, it's alot. But it's part of their premium range, and a high quality beautiful beast with practically all what we can need in connectivity and versatility.

Maybe NAD will release an integrated connected amplifier with the same features and up to date Purifi or Ncore module in their classic range, plain looking but much more affordable.

- except DLNA …
