NAD M33 Streaming Amplifier Review

I too noticed this. For me it was negative. It's now way too loud (-48 dB) with Dirac on, and it sounds like the room correction isn't working properly. There used to be little to no difference on the sound level with Dirac on vs. off.

I have filters made back in July 2020 with Dirac Live v2.5.3. I tried exporting them again with the new Dirac Live v3.9.7 but it didn't help. Interestingly, the v3.9.7 changelog says: "Fixed the known problem where some NAD devices got substantially louder sound with Dirac ON than with Dirac OFF." Already sent an email to Dirac on how to get the filters working correctly again. I would prefer to not have to re-measure the system.
"and it sounds like the room correction isn't working properly", looks like you are right, I've checked with REW and despite Dirac being turned on I did not see correction applied. I will try to remove and then upload my filters to see if it makes a difference.

I sent emails to NAD and Bluesound as well, although they seem to go to the same address judging by the ticket numbers. I wonder if anyone would have the previous firmware saved so I could downgrade the M33 while waiting for the fix. Nad doesn't supply the files on their site anymore.

Edit: I thought about doing a quick one position measurement and new filters to see if it was due to my almost 4 year old filters, but as you (@Calou) have confirmed that the room correction doesn't work I'll skip that. One would think they at least test that Dirac is working before releasing the firmware.

I suggest contacting Nad and Dirac support so they know there really is a problem with room correction.

I got my first reply from Nad yesterday and they just suggested to do a new calibration. I followed up with a request for the previous firmware to downgrade the M33, but no reply yet.

I've also created a support request, deleting and reloading filters did not help. With REW I can see a difference of exactly 10 dB between Dirac off and on

If the distortion isn't audible, who cares? I have no idea if it is or isn't audible, just saying the presence of measureable distortion doesn't always imply audible distortion.

I notice a few other issues since the last update and wanted to check here:

1 - All of a sudden the BluOS app requires location access! Very annoying.
2 - I seem to have several HDMI CEC issues. For example, it does not always auto-detect my TV when I turn it on, and normally I control the volume via my nVidia Shield but that also does not work anymore.

It gets worse with every update.......send an email to the support team.

Goedemiddag, Ruim over ongeveer drie weken ga ik een NAD M33 versterker kopen, dus ik lees de berichten over Dirac. Op Bluesound.com heeft geschreven dat het probleem is opgelost. klopt dit bericht?

Is anyone running an SVS 3000 micro subwoofer with the M33? Any issues with the low output voltage from the M33’s sub out with that particular subwoofer?

Use the trigger input ;)
I’d like to know if the low output voltage of the M33 is sufficient to reach maximum output on the SVS. Unfortunately I can’t find any input sensitivity information on the SVS.
