NAD CD player plays disc but Marantz doesnt

I have a disc that the Marantz player wouldn't play ( locked up after the first two tracks) and would say "cant read disc". The NAD player had no issues. I verified the Marantz player is ok by playing another disc successfully. Is this a difference in error correction circuits? Visually the disc looks fine

This could be copy protection on the CD, non-compliance with the Red Book standards, hidden tracks, etc. It could also be an error on the CD or an incompatibility that the NAD player or the error correction can handle better.
