NAD C700 vs Wiim Ultra

For me Dirac and XLR outputs ..

Based on the above logic though, would there be any benefit from jumping from the Ultra to something like the M66 ..

Same principle... different features and also that unquantified 'pride of ownership '.
I'd stick with the WiiM, but I'd be delighted if someone gave me an M66 :)

miniDSP Flex balanced (and Flex HTx) with Dirac should be of interest to you, paired with a Wiim pro for streaming.

That's where I went after Wiim Ultra, anyway.

I own all of these streamers and dacs. I have my actual informed opinion on the sound. Not how they test. Answered the original posters question having owned what he was asking about.
Well then, it's settled. If only more people realized their opinions are all that matters we could advance the state of the art at a much greater pace.

I wouldn't consider the Bluesound to be an upgrade from the Ultra.
The value of a streamer is in what feeder streams it's set up to accept, whether and how it can access one's own audio files, weight and size, input and output capabilities and user interface. And the relative importance of these is dependent upon the individual.

Bottom line: the Bluesound system is, to me, the pinnacle. I don't suggest it is for anyone else.

Hardly, I'm responding to the OP who asked specifically about two things and I told him my thoughts on one being far superior than the other. I'm not going out there finding people who use and love the wiim ultra dac and telling them off. I'm telling the guy above that if he can get a least a c700 to stay away from the Ultra. He will not be happy with the sound. I have found some cheap older Dac's for a 2-300 that are HEAVY and made differently. I'm sure the numbers don't add up for you all, but the sound ALSO sounded more enjoyable to me than the detail of the ultra dac.
NAD C700 is crap, NAD M10 ist the best :D *popcorn*
