I'd be curious to see measured specs for this: https://nadelectronics.com/nad-electronics-launches-new-c-700-v2-bluos-streaming-amplifier/

The specs actually seem very close to the now ancient D7050 (ignoring the use as a DAC, please) ...

THD is a tie at <0.04%. SNR on the C700v2 (>84dB) is worse than the D7050 (>90dB). Channel separation aka crosstalk is a bit better on the C700, with >93db vs >85dB at 1kHz and >72dB vs >70dB at 10kHz.

But integrated Dirac is really, really nice. I have zero need for analog inputs or (ugh) a phono input (which typically are pretty mediocre in integrated amps at this price point anyhow), but if you do the new C700v2 has you covered.

@pogo as our resident NAD and Dirac champion :) do you know if the C700 V2 will get Dirac Live Bass control? And do you also happen to know if it the C700 V2 will support dual subs using the L/R Pre outs?

A C700 V2 could be a potentially excellent desktop device with the inclusion of Dirac.
Although I guess it'll still be inferior(?) to an M10 V2, and those now appear to be selling on early closeout - perhaps a good time to get one of those :\

Seems I answered the first one with a bit more googling!:
Does this mean NAD have decided to not follow through with promises of DLBC on the M33 and M10?!

Dirac is a fantastic addition! I suspect that most folks who are searching for an amp in this range don't have dedicated listening rooms. And consequently, ideal system set-up/placement, acoustic treatements, etc., take a back seat to the room aesthetics and functionality, and the all-important Wife Acceptance Factor. So room correction makes putting this amp on that kind of consumer's short list a no-brainer. (YPOA is what tipped my hand to getting the Yamaha R-N800a last year.) The compact size of the unit moves it to the front of the line.

Hi everyone, sorry to reopen an old discussion but
I'm trying to get Dirac Live working with my NAD C 700 V2, but I'm running into conflicting information and some frustrating detection issues.

1.

On the NAD C 700 V2 product page, it says:

Optional Dirac Live Room Correction
Simply purchase and activate a Dirac Live license

That suggests the license is not included and must be bought separately.

However, on NAD’s own Dirac compatibility page (posted before), it lists the C 700 V2 as "Included", implying that the license comes with the unit.

To make things more confusing, the official Dirac online store doesn’t list the C 700 V2 among supported devices for license purchase.

So—what’s the real deal? Is a license supposed to be included with the unit, or not?

I’ve tried running Dirac Live but the C 700 V2 is not being detected, despite:

  • The device being officially supported
  • Firmware fully updated
  • It’s on the same Wi-Fi network as my PC and iPhone
  • The BluOS app works perfectly, and streaming is fine

Here’s what I’ve tried:

  • On Windows PC: Dirac Live doesn’t detect the device at all. Manually entering the IP address results in “device not reachable”.
  • On iPhone: Manually entering the IP does find the NAD, but then it says no recording device is associated, even though I connected a UMIK-1 mic via USB directly to the NAD. When I try to proceed, I still get “device not reachable”.

My questions:

  1. Is Dirac Live really included with the C 700 V2, or does it require a separate license purchase?
  2. Should the microphone be connected directly to the NAD, or to the PC/iPhone running the Dirac app?
  3. Has anyone successfully run Dirac Live on the C 700 V2?
  4. Would switching to a wired Ethernet connection help with discovery?

Thanks in advance for any clarity or advice—this is quite a confusing setup for a premium product.

Dirac Live Ready feature will be available soon in 2025.
The cost should be identical to the Bluesound Dirac Live ready devices.
