My simple listening room

It can take time to collect, but it can be planned from the outset.

This is my listening room. It has changed very little over the past 6 years because it works... the room sounds great.

Just beautiful, thanks for sharing. But let me ask : do you experience any standing waves from that large uncovered window?

One free thing to try is to move either your chair or the speakers toward you to form a semi nearfield listening position. I moved my KEF LS50 Metas into my office and struggled with the sound until I moved to a more nearfield listening setup. Helped with some of the room problems and was also a fun experiment.
How did that affect your speaker placement, the distance between L and R? And how much space did you end up with behind your listening position?

For a standing wave you need parallel surfaces. The wall opposite the large windows is partially a very large open doorway, and then the rest of the wall is covered with more "clutter", so no issues.

Also, a large glass surface like that could cause reflections in the higher frequencies, but it is quite far from the speakers and even further from the listening position. I was able to place the speakers and the listening position well away from room modes so the bass response is reasonably extended and controlled... then I am using RoomPerfect on top of that, so the overall response and the imaging are both quite good.

Current plans are to move in about a year. I will miss this room!
