Preamble:
While waiting for a pair of G Five's I ordered in Jan I purchased a used pair of used 8050b's. They are pretty much the same thing with the G Five you also have a RCA input and the ISS I believe is a bit different. I'll be selling the 8050's in Aug/Sept so watch for the listing if you're looking for a pair. Or contact me in advance for a pre-sale.

HOLLY CRAP THEY ARE LOUD!

Just loud?

Okay, VERY LOUD. I'll likely never see the clipping lights. I don't currently have a test mic and I'm not sure I want to follow the white rabbit down that hole. I'd prefer just to be happy and listen to music.

Subjectively they are what I expected. I'm glad I went for the 8" woofer. I get enough bass I doubt I'll want a sub unless I go to a AV system (not likely).

In my life I've spent umpteen thousands on audio gear and frankly this system (6k) is the best I've ever owned and a fraction of the cost of my last system (20k). Best yet is I have way more space. No amps, pre-amps, LP's, CD's.

Now try to avoid thinking about upgrading to 8351B;)

Why stop there the 8361a's are ... I can't even find a CDN price :)

The 8350's are a remote possibility, so there is still a bit of a want.

Long and McQuade sells them.

Oh crap, they even come in black.

Honey… we need these.

You know, just when you think oh maybe I can swing these the realization hits that you still need 13% for HST.
Do any retailers dicker these days? Back in the day when I sold gear I dickered allll the time. It was fun and exciting. Some customers where surprised I would, others expected it and some demanded it. :D The premise of letting a customer walk was very distasteful and we where always happier to close a deal rather than let a customer walk and buy something from the competition. Not to say that I closed on price but I was a closer and wanted every deal that came my way. Perhaps you can grind on the price?

I have reason to believe that the folks at Studio Economik may be willing to “work with you on price”.;)

That's where I came from in my sales history. Nowadays it's online price. Best is Boxing Day here in the great white tax starved north. I get a 5% discount automatically at one store even on sale items. I did grind Long and Mcquade on a pair of Kali's that I ended up returning. The digital hiss was awful.

Well now that is good news. I will talk to them. Thanks!
