since I got cheesy aiyima amps for my Elac DBR62’s I no longer liked the sound, so I traded them for my Dynaudios with built in amps. I send to the BM9S sub then use the high pass switches on the speakers. 60 Hz seems to work well. But when I pulled out the speakers the finish got damaged, so I ripped the rest of it off. Maybe I can apply a coating of some sort to darken it?

The speakers had a lot of self noise (hiss) in high gain mode but in low gain mode they are fine.

the finish got damaged,
The wood grain finish?

There are probably lots of options... Sometimes, if you're artistic and the damage isn't too bad you touch it up with a 2 or 3 different colors of matching paint. Or maybe even colored markers if you can find the right colors. I think they make markers especially for wood finishes.

With my DIY speakers I cover them with leather-look vinyl. It's quick and easy and fairly cheap and I don't mind the look in my living room. A lot of guitar amps are made like that. I normally use brown but of course there is black or other colors. Once I used white (with black grill cloth).

self-adhesive wallpaper?

I decided to apply Howard Feed-N-Wax to the raw mdf and it darkened it a bit and made it look better.
