I did get it. and I liked it a lot. but I saw the reviews for the tube preamp and the stronger amps they released and sold the 406 and am still planning on one of the bigger chinese hifi amps. the 406 did sound nice. but i am happy with the cary slp90 clone im running now.

Unless you’re intending to bypass the analog crossover and go fully active, there’s zero benefit from bi-amping.
If I were to use a miniDSP 2x4 HD or a miniDSP Flex and two Musmys E406 into Kef 105/3, is there anyway of predicting how impactful the benefit would be?
I'm still very much a newbie to the science of hifi but i'm assuming that bypassing conjugate load matching passive crossover in the 105/3 isnt straight forward?
Quite a lot to unpack here.
-we have no measurements at all of the mumsie. No idea if any of its specs are accurate. So perhaps the most beneficial thing of all would be to forget about it and get an amp that you actually know is good.
- replacing an analog crossover with a digital one gives you great flexibility. But unless you know what you’re doing, that flexibility also allows you to really mess up the result (bearing in mind that KEF probably had a pretty good idea of what they were doing in the first place, so what exactly are you trying to improve from the original design?)
What measurements would help us understand if it's a good amp or not, i'm happy to do so if the equipment required is reasonably cheap?
REW (Room EQ Wizard) or Visual Analyser would give real-time graphs for distortion (THD), frequency response, and clipping right?
Sorry I was responding to your comment around benefit from bi-amping, I was wondering how it would work on a non standard crossover and if it would be of real world benefit.

you will see a LOT of responses that bi-amping has no real benefits... & they may be right ;D But, my ears are telling me otherwise (that, or my brain is just being tricked )

congrats... it's a LOT of amplifier for the money! I've been really happy with my bi-amp set, have owned them for over a year now & they have performed flawlessly. Do tell us how well it works with your KEF speakers & compare the E406 with the amp it replaced. =)

I've recently purchased one of these amps to allow me to refurbish a 1982 hand-built MOS-FET [SJ49/SK50], that is now ready for a cap upgrade.
Although ostensibly my e-406 looks like the same amplifier, it is not. It does not use FETS and it is Symmetrical and uses NJW0302/0281 BJT pairs.
It still has 6 pairs in parallel [So will have some grunt] and it sounds very powerful and detailed but I have not really had the chance to investigate the design further; whereas I came to believe that the previous version shown on here was based on the Legend/Stagemaster designed by Dr Borivoje Jagodic {https://electronicscheme.net/500w-rms-power-amplifier-based-mosfet/] {My postulation}
I've attached a photo of one of the channels showing the new array. Note the annotation on the PWA. The devices have the same part numbers.
Unfortunately, when I opened my device up I did not note the major change as they look, layout wise, the same. I will now investigate further.
