After my previous experiences with measurements!
I can say that the Geithains are a touch more congested in the mid range than the Kiis ( Kiis were already set up for a dem) there isn’t much in it but there just isn’t the separation some I suppose some might enjoy the homogeneity of the Geithain sound .

Mid-range has no chamber? Backwave reflection/interference of the mid off the woofer? And maybe frontwave off the tweeter, too?

Cardioid is accomplished with a small woofer slot (port) in the side of the cabinet?

What if I turn my down-ported subs on their side? Do they become cardioids?

I believe the cardioid is achieved in the same way as a cardioid microphone, delayed propagation cancelling, but I will check.

Yes.

No. It's more complicated than that.

@Purité Audio, do you have plans to compare the Geithains to the 8Cs? While the comparison with the Kiis was interesting, the Geithain-8C comparison is the one of greatest interest because the 8Cs also use venting to achieve a cardioid midrange.
