Tiny little two way that looks bad, measures bad and is very expensive, despite being knocked up in China.

Don't often vote poor but this time no alternative. When are we going to stop considering rinky-dink 2 way speakers like this as hi-fi? A waste of the world's resources.

I think this speaker looks pretty tacky even though it's made using high end materials and wood finished to a high degree. The sound is also nothing to write home about if looking at the measurements. Expensive and ill judged, both aesthetically & acoustically I reckon!

It also comes in red. I would like to see it with some less dramatic pigments added to the finish on the third version...

I think the red does look better, but I don't like the yellow & certainly not in the other pics I've seen (it looks a bit less ugly in this pic).

Thanks for the test Amir.;)

As pointed out by @Waxx old school two-way bookshelf speaker. Is it worth the price? Maybe not the speaker itself. Considering the woodwork, does it justify the price?

That amber color on the speaker reminds of

Why would a company ask for something to be reviewed by ASR unless they knew that it was a stellar product in alignment with ASRs testing techniques?

I think this is commendable and not something we should scold manufacturers for.

One can hope that the interaction between chinese loudspeaker manufacturers and ASR leads to the same improvements it led to when it came to chinese DACs and Amps. The potential manufacturing capabilities are there, the potential engineering capabilities are there. Todays top manufacturers in ASR amp/DAC reviews did not start out that way, but had rather humble beginnings:

I judge it as a woodworker where birdseye and tiger maple are highly prized. Granted, they are usually clear finished, not with this yellow hue. What fellow tradesmen respect may not be what others do....
Just in case you weren't sure that was a joke. There is no laughing emoji to select from.

It gives them brand exposure, plus they may not have a Klippel NFS. ;)

Well, this is the point i was hinting at eh?

Why would a serious loudspeaker manufacturer not have serious testing equipment?

The sad thing is you don't even need expensive equipment to measure loudspeakers, but it seems a big part of the "high end" loudspeaker manufacturers are rather furniture makers than engineering companies.

do not like the looks at all it looks like monkey bannana gibbons boomer uncle

I agree.
Aoshida has quite a few brands that ASR is already familiar with (including Topping) and communication can only lead to better products

Pourquoi un fabricant sérieux d'enceintes acoustiques ne disposerait-il pas d'équipement de test sérieux ?
In this specific case, it's because Musician-Audio specializes in DACs, preamps, amplifiers, and apart from these Knight speakers, they don't have any other models.
Since Aoshida is the holding company, we can assume that each of its brands can manufacture products on an experimental basis. I'm still waiting for the Klippel test of the SMSL Tabebuia, by the way!

That speaker looks so much like a hive that a swarm of hornets attacked it, only to realize the 'buzz' was just a low-frequency crossover.

- How much directivity mismatch should it have?

- Yes.
Legit maybe the worst I've ever seen on a 2-way like that.
it's a basic good oldskool bookshelf. To today standards certainly not technical perfect but quiet ok.
I really don't agree. Looking at other similarly designed speakers the only ones that reach this level of awful in terms of off-axis behavior are PMCs and some Dynaudios. And, these days, PMC is at least attempting to do some dispersion matching on their higher end stuff...

its high time the chinese market create the equivalent of what they did with EVs and stereo dac/amp/iems. come on!

That finish really clashes with the extremely visible screws - which are not something a woodworker would appreciate.
