MUM-10 STUDIO MONITORS

“The middle man money in the direct sales model goes into the pocket of the producer, not in the customers. Sorry, just my thoughts.

Think about it for just one second - the only way the middleman money can go to the producer is if the price is exactly the same and for the exact same thing!

This is only true when a manufacturer uses the middleman type distribution and sales model AND a direct sales route *at the same time*. In that scenario, they cannot charge less, else they will divert sales away from the shops and those shops will stop selling the brand .

Again, I thought this was forum that stepped away from daft, made up stuff .. lol

@LuckyNat the speaker producer can ask what they want. Price and margin are up to them.

Of course ... And you don't know their costs either..

However, the usual sales model cuts out at least half of the money paid for the product out of the. equation from the outset, never to be returned in value or quality of parts.

Whereas the potential from the direct sales model allows a return of value to the purchaser that is at least double.

*Any* manufacturer can chose to keep any percentage of the cost of a product for themselves and not put it into the product yours buying - it doesn't matter what sales method is used. People can rip you off regardless..

But to suggest that people *only* engage in a direct sales model in order to keep more of the money and ripp you off by more .. is really negative and conspiratorial thinking . T

o believe it so much as to feel a need to say itin public .. is not a mark of a mindset that is objective and likes evidence-based opinions, is it?

All BS really…they are one of the most expensive monitors on the market for their given driver size.
Yeah, because they use insanely expensive drivers. The PTT10+M74B+T25B combo is on its own even with OEM pricing probably over $1000 per speaker.

It's not *really* true though .. unless you strictly compare against the largest driver size.

And even then, a cursory glance tells use even *that* isn't true either.

ATC with 9" driver is £12.500 before tax. No DSP. and loads larger cabinet.

£2,000 more expensive and for a smaller driver .

Again, I thought ASR was supposed to attract those who were objective , dealt with data and facts .. seems not.

... Now, their stands however ! Haha.

Over £2k a pair.

And they kind of shoot themselves in the foot by bolting together parts we can see, and telling us where they bought them .

I can see on eBay now, a secondhand motorised AV stand with a similar motorised column, for £50. You can chose appropriate isolation products for the mass of your speakers easily enough, find the part no, search used. Make a single stand for about £200 with some very basic DIY skills.

I appreciate the time gone in to choosing the parts, but it's essentially a DIY project one would find in a Facebook group.

To be honest, PDP are quite inspiring for DIY projects ..
