Hello there!
I use a pair of monitoring active speaker in my living room (Focal Twin 6 + RME ADI 2 DAC FS). I would like to extend this to multichannel by staying with pro audio gear. What would you recommand?

I would need to play for exemple 5.1 blu-ray.

Two ways to go about it:

-A/V Processor:
Large, expensive, can decode bitstream (Dolby/DTS)

-miniDSP Flex HT/HTx:
Small, inexpensive, cannot decode bitstream-> your video source has to decode and output LPCM (e.g. ATV 4K, DP-UB820, Oppo BD Player)

Thank you!
With an A/V Processor I'll pay for amp and preamp I don't need (and my actual DAC might have better technical measurement specs, so I don't want to ditch it).
With a miniDSP, I cannot connect my speaker with XLR.

Just saw that the RME ADI 2/4 Pro can output 8 channels. I think this is my way to go :)
I'll just have to find out how I can input bluray + streaming services multichannel signal (I don't know if bd player can output multichannel audio via USB?)

It can't.

Samsung S95C and other tvs can output audio through USB. Anybody has tried this with multichannel USB DAC?
