Mulit-channel Amp,Which one you would like to own?

Which one you would like to own?

You're probably right, but the fact sheet is clear (if you know the specs of the TPA chips).

Since we are dealing with Multi-Channel amps I should have been a little more precise:
Support for and full power down to 2 ohms requires one TPA325x chip per channel.
=>
PAMx52: 2 TPA chips
PAMx53: 3 TPA chips
PAMx54: 4 TPA chips
PAMx56: 6 TPA chips
... and so on.
now i just need my other 2 questions answered (availability and price estimate)

Great idea, this is exactly what I'm looking for!
@3eaudio My vote goes to PAM258, but I wish to have feature to turn off some channels: e.g. using some switch on the back of the amp; I would start using 6 channels for 3-way active speakers, with an option to change it to 4-way later.
And I would like to install it in rack cabinet with rest of the gear.

PAM253!
Denon/Marantz receivers (and probably other brands) with preamp outputs + a high output 3-channel amplifier is a perfect combination in my opinion. Output of the A5 is too low verses most receivers to consider it a significant upgrade.
For me personally, I would like to see such an amp remain under 12 inches deep (front to back). With flatscreen tv's, cabinetry has become slimmer and can not accommodate the 14+ inches of depth required for most dedicated, non-desktop, amplifiers.

I just bought a stereo A7 with 48V X 10 amp PS and a mono A7 to drive LCR's from my Denon AVR-X3800's preamp outputs. I appreciate the volume bypass and input sensitivity switches, but the power supplies and extra cables are unruly. Also, the mono A7 sitting in a stereo case with one channel removed is a bit cheesy.
A 3-channel, high output option under $500ish USD would have been perfect for my setup.

Personally, I would want a 2ch version of this amp (PAM152).

And I would kill for a silver version.

I vote PAM152 as well. The wattage is good for my 4 ohm speakers without being overkill.

And honestly, I was about to ask for a silver version. If this is only black, I'll never buy it. Appearance goes on long way when you have to live with it. Black sucks the light out and doesn't complement lighter tones. It's the prime reason I haven't bought the A5 yet.

@ziggurcat @Jarrett the chassis is not an aluminum design, so there is no silver version.
We will consider the silver design in further product design, thanks for your feedback.

I would suggest an asymetric design, with PAM25x for either 2 or 3 channels, and PAM15x for the rest, with a muscular power supply capable of supporting substantial current into at least the 3 PAM25x channels, and levels somewhat more "ordinary" for the other channels.

Single ended is fine for my use cases - I do not see balanced inputs as being essential - in most use cases, they are additional cost for no perceptible improvement.

Or perhaps a modular design, where the end user can order different amp spec per channel, and a couple of power supply options (may depend on whether this is logistically viable of course)

One vote for the PAM152! I'm assuming it would offer pretty much the same performance as the A5?

Also curious to know why the PAM253 is getting so many votes :) what are specific use cases for a 3 channel amplifier?

LCR in HT.

for active-x-over, I'm thinking
*. channel-1 bridged tpa3255 pffb for sub
*. channel-2~5 tpa3255 pffb
*. channel-6,7 tpa3251 pffb for tweeters

will you consider to deliver OP based analogue x-over boards with changeable x-over frequency setting (like xkitz)?

I just hope that everyone posting their preferences here is also taking the actual poll on the first page!

Even if your dream configuration is not in the list it might make sense to vote for the closest thing you could live with.

So far there seems to be only one clear tendency ... towards the PAM256.

It depends to the price.
A 3 Channel Amp for LCR at the price Like the A7 for people that have a AVR with 5.1 system or more would make Sense.
Most people Feed Surrounds with the AVR.
If there would be a AVR preamp Surround processor at nice price from wiim or Something else, a 5 or 7 channel Amp makes Sense.
Also a Subwoofer amp with ok'ish thd but with more Power would be nice, Like 500w at 4ohm.
2 Channel makes only Sense with better Performance or Price then the A7. But i guess some will Like a Amp with No external Power brick.

"f there would be a AVR preamp Surround processor at nice price from wiim or [someone else]" ... That would be filling a holy grail gap in the market (unless someone can point me to one).

I can't help but think that a single box solution with optimized power supplies to follow the A7 and A5 'business model' makes sense regardless of how we vote.

I'm surprised at the PAM 152 outvoting the 252 while the 253 outvotes the 153! But I suppose at 40 count as I write this is a small sample. Nice to be asked though @3eaudio !

There is one that I am aware of - Canton Smart Connect, it supports wireless surround speakers as well for 7.x or more but I found it a bit pricy when checked last.
Don't know how room correction and calibration works with it though.

Any plans to support bridging in these amps?

In Europe it is very well priced at ca. 500 eur and down to 400 when in offer. Iirc it supports wireless speakers as well, a very cool device. However there was a thread here where a couple of owners complained about usability and endless issues.

Thank you. It's not a deal breaker for me, silver is simply my personal preference.

It is a pity about the issues, and yes I am in Europe ... but I don't understand why there is no competitive market really for this kind of product.

In many respects this 3eAudio poll is for a product that needs a competitive market for multi-channel pre-amps ... I'm surprised @Guddu was even able to find this!

Unless I am missing something. Thank you for pointing it out though.
