And it seems that more and more devices are being equipped with it. Perhaps there will be more announcements about this at the High-End this week.Is this really going to continue now?![]()

And that's exactly what I doubt.Yes the IP has been sold forward and the new owner wants to make hay, behind all this is meridian audio's unsubstantiated idea about "apodizing filters" that was the name some decades ago this morphed into a part of the MQA concept ie it's filters ( MQA was more than that .. ) and is now continued into this form and is now productized this way .
At least it does not affect the playback material , we can use whatever we normally listen to and this is now a DAC specific process instead of fiddling with our music files and streams . Which is an improvement . It can be avoided by , not using this product or up sample in your source like ROON or something else ..

Likewise I don't understand your over the top enthusiasm for QRONO that you keep sharing every chance you get. The generic "listening impressions" you keep talking about are something many or most here will disregard out of hand.I can't understand why the new MQA technologies are viewed so negatively. Listening impressions and measurements were quite positive. Either my M33 V1 will get a QRONO update or I will buy new hardware.

Seems reasonable, and when v3 of the amp is released and the older generations left behind again.. buy another oneYou would ditch a $6500 amp to get QRONO?
Hi there.I can't understand why the new MQA technologies are viewed so negatively. Listening impressions and measurements were quite positive. Either my M33 V1 will get a QRONO update or I will buy new hardware.
Kindly point us to "listening impressions" that aren't sighted (and thus useless as objective indicators of anything) and/or measurements that show how thisListening impressions and measurements were quite positive.
Ah yes, GXAlan's phase measurements which were addressed in that very same thread that you linked to and which not only are certainly not audible, but aren't actually an MQA advantage.See post #98.
We should also move away from the MQA file format in this discussion.
Well you posted wondering why there is negativity. Hard to answer that without mentioning the decade of MQA Ltd causing the resentment.Because the contributions in post #114 are not very useful. The new MQA technologies are set up differently.
I respectfully disagree. The company has burned many bridges amongst the hifi community, which is why I posted the links I did in my reply. My point wasn't about the new tech, but the company behind it. I was trying to answer your point: "I can't understand why the new MQA technologies are viewed so negatively". They brought it on themselves. Many people are naturally wary of their new tech and the hype surrounding it.Because the contributions in post #114 are not very useful. The new MQA technologies are set up differently.
