Hallo everybody.

I saw a video, wonder if someone tried this ?

The video shows the guy putting the speakers
right up to the ears
with the speakers standing
"exactly between"
the ear or head of the listener
on each side and the side wall.

Then he moves them towards the forward wall,
away from the listener, until there is a spot according
to him where the music becomes amazing according to him.

Anyone tried this ?

For it to work, one need's a dedicated large room.

My new HiFi room in my very old cheap house
in the pyrénées measures :

- 6 meters long = 19.69 feet (approx. 19'8")
- 4 meters wide = 13.12 feet (approx. 13'1")
- 3 meters high = 9.84 feet (approx. 9'10")

Thank You, Raymond.

I guess it's when direct sound hits his ears.
I tried both sides from the wall and towards the wall and it is very difficult, almost impossible, to adjust the speakers by ear because the differences are really small 2.3 db in bass region where we humans have very bad, and it has lot of high Q resonances that are inaudible to as humans, and it doesn't worth fix it with Dirac and the like because you lose almost 12 db of headroom.
I like little free bass extension from room boundaries so I keep 60-80 cm from front wall.
So some phone app like Spectroid is better than ears in this case ....

Thank you Marin. I am a total beginner and happy to be so :)
What he was talking about was the sound "stage" being incredible at some point. I will find the video again and post it here.
