All of Shigeru Umebayash and all of Zbigniew Preisner I could watch the films they worked with my eyes closed.
Also the versions of the Ride of the Valkyries in Apocalypse Now and Star wars.
Some of Hans Zimmer too.

original 'top gun' LP soundtrack direct sound from the Technics SL-1210GR to Denon AVC-X8500H (i could have used the headphone output on the Denon) i went with headphone monitor from Sony SDDS , it does have low level signal noise ratio that is measurable a wine'y sound that is many - dB down i think -70dB anyway use Sony handycam to record with duel oscilloscope trace .
i think the lyrics come though with about 90% clearness compared to some rubbish music where i can't understand the lyrics .

it's not a trap. "it's a tape !" direct from headphone output to Sony handycam , Dolby NR switched off . only six 20th century for Star Wars movies actually used the LSO the true star wars music universe sound ! all disney used was USA ones that sucked ! LSO British is light-years better !

I liked "The Graduate" soundtrack, as well as "Almost famous", also loved "Less than zero" soundtrack and "Detroit Rock city". Besides rock music, and speaking of more pop or soft music, I really liked "Serendipity" soundtrack, the songs fits perfectly on the movie, makes a very special experience.

Most of Krzysztof Kieślowski's work, particularly The Double Life of Veronique and Blue. Music is essentially a character in these. I love what Jonny Greenwood has been doing with PT Anderson. Phantom Thread especially.

Mica Levi's scores for Under the Skin and Monos are mesmerizing.
That is one creepy movie. Maybe I just don't "get it".

I think it's about empathy. But of course what one person finds mesmerizing another can find tedious. It's one of a kind though.

Apollo 13, of course. It was easily some of Horner's finest work, in my opinion.

Tarantino can be counted on for a few deep cuts. I appreciate that. (Edit) John Hughes did a lot of 80s stuff with music that seems nostalgic now. At least to me.

Do musicals qualify? If yes, so many.
