Works for me (but I'm a musician, which might be a factor).
I'm also interested in (and sensitive to) the melody (pitch variations) of languages. It makes it easier to distinguish native from non-native speakers, since the melody is hard to get right (I'm still struggling).
Perhaps this test would be easier with a completely unfamiliar language. It avoids focussing on the words.
