What I meant is... how this API would work? I need a PC connected to the same network of the AVB to control volume?
You need some device on the same network to send the commands based on some triggering input, but it needn't be a PC. The one I suggested would use a cheap, common hobbyist IoT development board with a WiFi connection, and volume buttons or a knob, but there are many other ways it could be done. Writing a plugin for one of the home automation systems like FHEM or OpenHAB would let you control it with something off the shelf that works with them like one of Ikea's smart home remotes. A phone app would be another option.

The API looks like it gives pretty much full control as you would have using the AVB's browser-based mixer, but you can send whatever mix of commands you want to, so you could have your volume control change channels 1,2,5,8 and 9 if you wanted.

it's strange how Motu anounced double DSP power in 4th gen, but CueMix lost funcionality. you could assign anything you want to the volume knob in Ultralite and Traveler MK3. another lost feature is the low-pass for example. You could also access all the mixer and DSP functions via hardware knobs on the front; which sure wasn't very intuitive or fast, but a good function.

Somewhat related... After 2 years of trial and error with audio interfaces such as FR 2i2, 6i8, Motu 4 etc my goal was to be able to play music through multiple studio monitors at the same time and able to control the gain on separate channels which none of these interfaces could do in a standalone mode. Long story short: Front Monitors 2 Presonus 5xt's, Rear monitors if to call them that - vantaoo transparent zeros (ridiculously sounding good once dialled in) Sub - latest KRK 10 with a drawmer CMC3 monitor controller feeding sources from Raspberry PI's, LG V50 running squeeze player, Arch Linux for Squeeze lite/LMS) Projector using coaxial routed through separate channels on a 10 plus year old Octa capture setup with 3 mixes - Front Monitors, Rear and sub - all which can control the gain and more independently. For a 450 square ft apartment it sounds like Space Ibiza in here. The building shakes, the neighbours hate me - I love it and couldn't be happier. Sure I could have gone to best buy and got a soundbar though what fun is that. And to the geezers at sweet water that didn't make it in the sound engineering department telling me this is not the correct way and I'll run into all sorts of phasing issues etc. I've come to find there is no correct way if it sounds right to you thats all that matters. One mofo of a project with too many options!

MOTU WDM Driver Allows any WDM-driver compatible audio software to do multichannel input and output with the UltraLite-mk3

btw, this turned out beeing impossible: https://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=597347#p597347
like allready mentioned the driver is a little buggy some times.
had to use https://shop.vb-audio.com/en/win-apps/19-hifi-cable-asio-bridge.html?SubmitCurrency=1&id_currency=1
which is a perfect and non headache causing solution.
I have the non hybrid version btw
