Why they assume everyone trying to power this with unbalanced RCA to a home theater system from BestBuy?

Even $1200 subwoofer come with no TRS input, that's ridiculous.

How am I supposed to connect this to an audio interface when it has no TRS

How difficult it is to find a sealed sub with TRS or XLR inputs?

You have to step up to $2000 SB-5000 to finally have some XLR

Until you step to prepros and TOTL AVRs most everything is going to be unbalanced, which most consumers use. That's why you don't find XLR inputs on most lower and mid-level subs except for studio gear. Unless you have a specific reason for those inputs, you should be fine.

I do have an specific need. I'm not a home theater guy. I'm a musician hence my guitar.

I use an audio interface Motu Ultralite mk5 for my desk setup with Genelec 8030c

I'm looking for XLR/TRS sub with a mute button ideally a controller, id rather not just a footswitch.

Another option is connecting a sub to channel 3 and 4 on my interface, and turn it on and off through the interface app

Understood. You should be fine with with the appropriate cable XLR to RCA. If you're determined to have XLR to XLR, there are subs that are in the price range of the SVS you pictured.

Most of the HSU subs come with XLR inputs.

You have to check out studio monitor brands for example on Thoman website , just a few examples KRK has subs at reasonable prices with xlr .
You have Neumann which is expensive but considered very good speakers they also have subs ( with DSP )
