Hello,

it is very interesting which chassis were used in these very expensive boxes. Here are some guesses and cost estimations. Of cause the chassis without good engineering are noting, but it is still interesting which chassis were picked for these speakers.

Wilson WAMM Master Chronosonic
Tweeter: unknown maybe an older design due to the front plate geometry?
Upper Midrange: scan speak 12MU/8731T00
Lower Midrange: ?
Woofer 1: scan speak 28W/4878T01
Woofer 2: scan speak 32W/8878T01 or 32W/8878T11

Estimated chassis costs: 2.500$

Schweikert Ultra 11
My guesses:
Upper tweeter and back upper Tweeter: fountek Neo Pro 5i
Lower tweeter front: scan speak D3004/664000
Lower tweeter back: H1499-06 27TBCD/GB-DXT
Mid woofer: accuton C173-6-096
Woofer: accuton C220-6-222 or C220-6-227
Subwoofer: ?

Estimated chassis costs: 5.000$

Tidal Akira
Tweeter: accuton BD 20-5-048 CELL
Midwoofer: accuton OEM similar to C90-6-724 CELL with diamond membrane
Woofer: accuton OEM similar to AS190-9-251

Estimated chassis costs: 10.000$

Avalon Tesseract
Tweeter: accuton BD 20-5-048
Mid: accuton C90-6-724
Woofer: accuton C220-6-222 or C220-6-227
Subwoofer: ?

Estimated chassis costs: 5.000$

Toothpick is ok.
Sometimes a simple tool is the best.

However, the oven is a joke! Adhesive curing is an important process to get the desired material properties in the end. There is no excuse in not using an laboratory grade oven with adequate control of temperature profile over time.

Anyway, seems that 10k $ EQ is not important when building 1 Million $ speakers, even if it is the core process which holds the sound emitting elements in place.
Memo from management:
Employees are reminded not to use the radialstrahler production oven to reheat the leftovers they brought for lunch. Ingrid had to spend a whole afternoon cleaning spaghetti sauce from the oven, delaying production. Please use the oven located in the staff lounge for this purpose.

I dunno why you rate Tidal Akira cabinet so high. Far as the exterior concern. It is the easiest and less material. It look like lower model of Avalon. Just sketch it long.

Aaand here we go, another "let's frame the opponent". Yeah, it's possible It's just a few orders of magnitude more difficult than you seem to gather. For what it's worth, it's not so hard to implement poorly. That only takes money. Getting the same accuracy that one can get with 5 or 7 or 9 or 11 or whatever speakers made what I will call "unobtinium" parts (i.e. it only takes money) is going to be extraordinarily, excruciatingly difficult.

For "big speakers" you can have a "big box". To get wavefield synthesis right, you need to have driver spacing less than a half-wavelength. Yeah, you figure that one out at 30khz. (you want to shoot high to avoid various array-like effects)

I've done it on paper. I'm not sure it's a realistic project, and it would require making tweeters that effectively have continuous diaphragms driven by a set of motors of some sort. Small ones. Small, powerful ones.
Wittek's solution was to restrict the WFS range and have conventional stereophony at HF. In listening tests this arrangement fared better than full range WFS.

I think there was some attempt by the Fraunhofer Institute to map the WFS requirements from acoustic to perceptual space and reduce the number of speakers required.

I estimated the cost of all chassis. And the accuton chassis with diamond membrane are very expensive. I didn't include the cost of the cabinet.

Hello,

I elaborate my thoughts of the chassie cost:
Tidal Akira
Tweeter: accuton BD 20-5-048 CELL
Midwoofer: accuton OEM similar to C90-6-724 CELL with diamond membrane
These two chassis are very expensive.
The tweeter cost about 2100$. The main cost is the diamond membrane.
The midwoofer of the Tidal Akira is OEM from accuton with diamond Membrane. Its cost should be very high. I didn't ask accuton for its price of such a chassie, my estimate is around 5000$. It might be even much more expensive.

Avalon Tesseract
Tweeter: accuton BD 20-5-048
Mid: accuton C90-6-724
Woofer: accuton C220-6-222 or C220-6-227
Subwoofer: ?
The Avalon has probably the same diamond tweeter but according to the specs a Cell Middriver, which should be much less expensive than a diamond version.

I also want to empathized that good engineering of the speaker matters way more than any expensive material.
