They were pretty reasonable even back when Motorola made them.

Simple and modernistic, I love it!

I do not care about modernistic but ease of integration with my décor (pick the color that works, they do have one that works for me), minimal depth is very nice and great audio (something with great audio and reasonably will fit in with most décor, I think). Many may sound great but are downright FUGLY.
These are tolerable in the aesthetics and quite good in the sound. The affordability is a factor that, at the moment, would prevent me form owning them.
But that has to do with what are my priorities "at the moment". What is really important right now, has a way of being not important in a year.

They were pretty reasonable even back when Motorola made them.

Most of the non-Motorola ones left out or cheapened the internal parts that caused the horrid sound that gave Piezo's bad reputation.
There were (and are, if you seek them out) good sounding Piezo's.

But they are not necessarily "CHEAP", so don't expect that/

Sure. It's a useful tool though if you are looking for design inspiration and want to quickly locate a specific cabinet configuration without having to load each page individually. I'm not suggesting the designs should not be discussed - that's the point of the thread and I'm on board with that

A desktop DIY project for absolutely free and open-ended assembly. Simple and compact. The original standard baffle color is dirty noisy pink, but you are free also use wood or rat style iron sheet or anything, anything. Desktop18HTX100. Aka TwentyTwentyTwelve in honor of minimalized box size (the horn sticks out forward a little)

It was originally designed for desktop installation (A fairly wide table is recommended. Or two smaller tables.), but of course anyone who will dare assemble it is absolutely free to place it wherever and however they want.

I didn't realise the Accuvoice Streaming S3 were launching already, I would love to see the measurements if those, they look like the better looking smaller brother of the the C8Cs. I don't think they are cardioid though.
