That's a Kyron Audio speaker. It's an active loudspeaker driven with DSP (provided by DEQX). The build quality on these things is astounding. All the metalwork is machined from solid billets, there are no extrusions. So they are unbelievably heavy. They make their own amplifiers - I believe it's from modules supplied by ICE or Hypex but I could be mistaken. They exploded in the local scene about 10 years ago, everyone was talking about them. The problem was the eye watering price of their systems - about AUD$150k (USD$106k) if I remember correctly. For that, you got a pair of 3 way speakers, amplifiers, DSP/DAC, and a home visit for install and room correction.

I have heard a few of these. They have the "open" sound of dipoles, but with the SPL and impact of a dynamic driver speaker. I have never seen measurements, maybe I should contact a friend who owns them (whom I haven't seen in years) and ask if he would be happy for me to visit with my microphone. I have always been curious about what makes them sound the way they do.

Thanks for all the info

I have to think most high-end speaker manufacturers are going for "distinctive", rather than beautiful.
