Why didn't they use black screws? Honestly, apart from that I quite like the look of those speakers. PMC usually does not appeal to me at all, so in my opinion, good work PMC.

For some reason (probably irrational, I dunno), I put PMC in the same category as ATC. Expensive, legendary, measuring far below their reputation. Utilitarian, and therefore badarse aesthetic. Would buy if I had the money, because at least they kick hard.

Yup.

I’ll never get that choice.

“ let’s put tons of money and effort into creating speaker with a nice finish and aesthetics, let’s charge tons of money, but let’s also make sure we place the very cheapest, least aesthetic element obtrusively all over the design.” You pay thousands for a speaker with a nice finish. You get to look at exposed silver screws, costing pennies at Home Depot.

Maybe this is what you get with engineers in charge of things?

But other than that, I still can’t get on with their looks. Reminds me of a toilet seat.

yeah seems super obvious doesn't it. i get the impression a lot of these older companies are just hiring whoever is cheapest to do new designs and no longer has real talent behind them.

I'm looking to buy new speakers and this topic is perfect because design is just as important to me as sound quality. A lot of people recommend the KEF LS50 Wireless or some of the Sonus Faber bookshelf models because they look like works of art in a modern living room. For me, the ultimate expectation is to find something that has a super clean, minimalist design but still delivers rich sound without having to hide a massive, ugly subwoofer under the table. If I'm going to spend a lot of money on high-end audio, I want them to look beautiful even when they're turned off
