Most beautiful speakers in the world ?

Looks good, prices sound good too. If they hold what they promise, looks like a good entry series indeed. Creme and coffee colours? Not bad for a change.

Euro prices per per pair:

That carpet or a rug? Have to do the 70s shag carpet rake, that stuff would destroy a vacuum LOL

That’s a wall to wall shag rug. Yes I do sometimes use the carpet rake.
:)

Vacuuming has been no problem. It’s been extremely rugged - 15 years old and still doesn’t shed, even when vacuuming.

Another thing I like about the tall shag rug is that the speaker cables are buried by the shag so they are mostly invisible, which suits me because I don’t like seeing cables.

And it means no possibility of tripping over cables when walking into the room.

Probably not a very popular scenario with the cable riser crowd :-)

Well, definitely a good carpet to absorb floor reflections … you could lay your cables on top of that shag and it would be like having them on risers ;)

Actually, this would be a good thread to ask people’s opinions on a speaker finish.

I really love the rosewood finish on my speakers but I’ve also always loved dark ebony wood finishes. I actually inquired about getting mine in a custom ebony finish but the up charge was too much for me.

Out of curiosity, I had ChatGPT change the wood finish from Rosewood to darker brown.
I’m curious what some people here prefer,
the original finish (top) or the darker finish (bottom):

I like the darker color a bit more
But nothing critical
They're both great

Same for me.

Same here, I think.

Darker finish would pick up some of the darker browns in the room, but the original Rosewood finish picks up on some of the other would finish in the room like the columns and the trim:

I also like the darker. But, I am not a fan of wood finish on speakers in full disclosure. For me, they are a high tech tool, I rather they not look like furniture and draw attention to themselves. But I definitely appreciate beautifully made furniture grade speakers!

I will say for certain that whoever builds Jeff Joseph’s cabinets does impeccable work! They are beautiful (not just from pics, I have seen them in person on numerous occasions)

I’m getting déjà vu about us discussing this before but ….

Obviously, there’s no right or wrong to this just taste. And I certainly don’t expect everybody to share my personal taste, including for my set up in my room.

But my view is perhaps the opposite of yours - speakers end up in domestic spaces so for me when they look like “ high-tech tools” that’s when they can stick out from the rest of the room furnishings (unless somebody’s gone all high-tech with their room furnishings). And if the speakers are going to be big enough to be prominent, then they’re going to call attention to themselves, no matter what. Speakers become de facto pieces of furniture in most cases. Which is a big reason, of course, in the early days of hi-fi, manufacturers and artisans used to go to such lengths to making speakers and entertainment consoles look like nice furniture.

I’ve seen plenty of speakers with wood finishes that I think blends beautifully with the room, and makes them feel suited to the room.

In my case, both of necessity and of choice, my speakers are positioned so that they are going to be somewhat featured in the room.

I find a nice high-quality wood finish in this scenario to be most pleasing. A beautiful piece of furniture that makes beautiful sound. (in fact, I think the Joseph speakers have the nicest wood finish of anything in our house.)

If I were offered speakers in black ash finish, I would sooner listen to our kitchen, smart speaker instead :-)

I think a sedate non-wood finish could also be nice, but for me would have to be a very high-quality finish - something that speaks of high-quality materials, and not merely industrial use-case utility. And NO distracting white drivers allowed!

Some of the Kharma speakers come close to something I think could work - not a wood finish, but they have high-quality finishes:
