I really dislike things that try to pretend to be something that it's not. Like wood veneer on metal. Or is it fibreglass? If it's metal, it should look like metal. Other pet hates: chromed plastic, wood effect plastic, boards painted to look like marble, fake plants, astroturf, and fake rocks in theme parks. These are all abominations!

Why so harsh? If costumers like it, let them go.

Thank you for your kind words !
This was exactly my idea. As it was very difficult to find information regarding these speakers, amps (I would say they are the German Western Electic), I thought it would be nice to try to collect everything I could and share with other people.
My inspiration was this one : https://www.audioheritage.org/
But the Lansing Heritage website is way above, a marvel !
Thanks for a detailed archive.

You may know artist Peter Doig has a show at the Serpentine Gallery. Included are two Klangfilm Euronor Junior speakers borrowed from a private collector. On the Serpentine website there are more images of them with art.

You can post it in this thread if you want and mods can edit the title or something
Or start a new one, whatever you want

ok, i have found thread pearl jam 5000. thanks

since i am here, i have to say some of my weird thoughts on aesthetics of speakers.

and the hidden revelations in the mental raft!

i found Kali lp6 to be ugly, but after a while i find a spiritual element in them.
like you know how colors and what we see influence what we hear, mind can often play tricks on us.

but i often wonder if that "8"shape that suroounds the woofer and tweeter kind of unites low and high frequencies. like 2 circles stretched apart yet still united,

something like yin yang ..
and i started to wonder how that shape of 2 "circles"stretched apart and united at the same time can play psooibly
a beneficial mental trick that can reveal and make aus focus on midrange more, since we know in 2 way mid-fi (?) speakers like lp6v2 the midrange is not that "apparent" as in kali in 5.

!!And, more importantly, i wonder how actually seeing woofer and tweeter separated makes mental raft in our mind, and because of this separation that we see while
we listen.. our brain makes a dip in midrange when there isn't one.

And so.. i find it interesting how shapes of speakers can (or could) possibly influence what we hear. Perhaps some research in this field would be interesting.

and so. now
i think i find kali design to be somewhat beautiful and spiritual in a way.

What are the gizmos in front of the tweeters?
It seems to be another tweeter (or a supertweeter) aimed into the front of the horn, part of the Orbital Driver System™ which...
consists of an innovative sound projection technique based on the positive interference between opposing loudspeakers operating in different frequency bands and jointly projected through a hyper-exponential curve horn developed using fluid mechanics formulation. The ODS helps generate a natural and immersive soundstage, perfectly aligned with the capabilities of the human auditory system. The result is a loudspeaker system that stands out for its naturalness and precision, completely free from listening fatigue.
No further comment.
