Most beautiful speakers in the world ?

It's safe to assume the business calculation is sound. The fake tweeter makes it look like a "proper speaker", and if that helps sales more than it costs, which seems likely, then there you have it.
I'd be surprised if anyone who buys this calibre of speaker would actually care.

Logitech, have a strange way of thinking and a broad spectrum of products. Some of which aren't that bad I will add. But come on guys, theres no place for fake plastic tweeters.

hese are "just" plain boxes with nice high gloss paint, but the wood baffles make it so much better. Really nice.

Somehow I like that format in general. Speakers wider than deep. Just speaks to my aesthetic sense. Like these Heco Direkt models:

I also not only like the looks of such designs but also the sound character due to their lower baffstep frequency, something which otherwise can be achieved with expensive cardioid implementations. This Heco Premium Direkt in the above colour will be probably my next buy when its price drops.

Yes indeed. It's a matter of taste, but these also measure well, if the older "non-premium" models are basically the same.

Nicely flat, unproblematic directivity, room friendly bass shelf, high efficiency of 93dB, benign load (4.0 Ohm minimum). 10" paper woofer plus silk tweeter. What's not to like?

Yes, the new one has actually even smoother responses and lower distortion, old one

The old one can be bought though currently in Germany for almost half the original price and used for a third which makes it still a great buy, but I know that if would buy the old one my inner voice of "what if?" wouldn't let me rest. :D

That two-tone style with wood alone... the old ones are pretty too, but we all know that wood veneer sounds so much better. :D

Of course, much warmer :p

By the way the old ones also did exceptionally well in a binaural comparison of ASR members:

Really interesting thread. Typically Heco: really good performance both technically and subjectively, comparatively dirt cheap. They seem to have a bunch of experienced designers and engineers there, who don't do wild experiments but know everything about conventional designs and how to make the best of it for a highly competitive price. Thumbs up!

What are the drivers on the horns?
Pretty sure they are JBL LE175s. The woofers are what stump me. They look like 130 frames and motors, but the surrounds are the white foam lans-a-loy as used on the LE14 or LE15A... but the woofers are not underhung (they have a much thinner top plate) or using the more massive magnet of the LE15A. It is possible JBL made a custom woofer and even HF driver for this unusual application.
