They are quite old now and produced when B&W were state of the art.
I did audition them 30 years ago and they were in the last of two speakers on my short list but in the end I chose the others, not least because these required 8 channels of amplification and back then powerful amps were still expensive.
I wanted them in British Racing Green, and have, to an extent, regretted not buying them then since I still love the styling and the drivers were then absolute state of the art (and may still be, not many speakers around with pistonic drivers over the whole frequency band. They are much more expensive now.

Apparently conceived before I was, albeit with a longer gestation!

As you say, with four-way pistonic drivers plus those unconstrained back-wave damping pipes, low-diffraction front surfaces—driven by an array of modern amp channels they would probably sound splendid. I can imagine your feelings there quite easily. I may take mine in basic black (ok, maybe pearlescent or metallic) but after following this thread's entire duration to date, I think this design does in most of the competition for most beautiful loudspeaker.

Looks good for it's intended purpose. A bit industrial. TORX or 6 Lobe screw are typically super durable and minimize torque-out when driving.
