If two wizzers and a "mushroom" could make a speaker "driver" full ranger, the size of the box is only for the marketing value... :)

The speaker box manufacturers assume that sound travels in straight lines, and that when those "waves" hit a surface, they will reflect back, much like a ball would. However, once sound is released, it moves out in every direction and reflects back in every direction as well. Therefore, the theory of "standing waves" is somewhat misguided.

Please spare us from your "science" musings.

Resemble is uncanny:

Is there a white model of this Pioneer loudspeaker/garlic? How it smells?
Oh, I found it:

Now seriously: this is nice example of form-follow-function design (bass-reflex vent on the top), but fluted surface is big mistake. It is not a Pioneer product, but someone's design concept.

It doesn't have to be, because we don't know the measurements.
Inside the housing, such irregular structures are rather helpful.
I meant "big visual design mistake".
Once you mentioned it, measurements will be worse than with smooth surface, for sure. On the other hand, almost all box-shape loudspeaker enclosures have more problems with diffraction than this flute-shaped globe.
