Most beautiful speakers in the world ?

These are made in the late eighties by me for a friend. The satelites are done with Focal drivers. The passive subs are with a dynaudio 12" bass.

Around 1988 I made this Set for myself. The bass was an 15" maybe by Fostex, can`t remember exactly. The sats got chassis by Dynaudio (midbass), MB Quart (midrange) Technics ribbon (Highs).

The whole thing looked like this

Probably already in here...

That pic has always bothered me in several ways. Aside from the migraine-inducing décor why would you place a dipole speaker up against the wall in a corner, but have the console out in the middle of the room?

And where is he knocking out the ash from that pipe? I don't see any ash tray. Although I suppose with that carpet pattern you could just knock it out onto the floor and not notice.

I definitely would not shove my ESL57's into a corner up against the wall but besides, they do work a lot better when supplied with both a power cable and a speaker cable. Mind you, in that decor they could be camouflaged. :) I wonder what she's thinking BTW.

ATC SCM20ASL Limited Edition

Unfortunately 20ASL doesn’t have their famous midrange dome driver. I really liked the 50ASL with their s-spec mid-dome when i auditioned it a few years ago.

Why on earth did he insist on putting a dipole speaker in the corner like that?
He can get the ashtray from the kitchen himself -idiot!

A pair of main active monitors would probably sound batter than that mega system with a million components
Really? Never hearing the system you say that?

I believe he is using two main monitors and two sub/bass columns. I'm sure part of it is active.

I personally have never heard the system but a few friends have, actually this forums host may have been in that room and heard Mikes rig at one point.
I believe they were all chums at one point and may still be.

I'll say this he is dedicated to making his system better, and has spent a few years getting there.

He post most of the time at WBF and is a founding member. Personally I'm not a big fan of WBF, or AG but my personal taste and 5 dollars will get you a whole cup of coffee.

I'm all for the hard work and time it took anyone to build their dream system, I wish them all the very best and many years of listening in the future.

Regards

I'm not criticizing his system
I can't even afford one cable he has
I'm sure his system is amazing
I'm just saying that if I had that kind of budget I'd with go pro audio instead of audiophile home Audio
