Most beautiful speakers in the world ?

Honestly, kind of flat in terms of image/soundstage. The 'smoke ring' comment really says it all.

Fascinating. I would’ve thought from the design that they were some attempt at producing more spacious imaging or something.

between Sooty and Magic they made JBL G125 the most beautiful speaker ever

A classic DIY design of mine. I have a surround system with passive cardoid floorstanders, four 12" subwoofers, Anti-Mode X2, etc. But to be honest, this is all one needs to listen to favourite music along with a glass of wine.

Solid baffle, tilted stand, oiled oak.

I do like his aesthetic. When mine arrive (ha!) definitely playing from reel-to-reel, which somehow matches best.

I find something intriguing in the designs to.

I like a nice sleek modern floor stander, but I also like the old school look as well.
These speakers look sort of “ made in shop class” But I think he still pulls off a look.

(Do schools even have shop class anymore?)

I always was fond of the AudioKinesis Jazz Modules

Ha! Thank you, Josh!

It never occurred to me that anything I'd done might make it into this thread. (Design inspired by Earl Geddes.)

If that waveguide and woofer were still available, the Jazz Modules would still be in production. But those parts became unobtainium about sixteen years ago.

Yeah, I followed your progression through the years, back on Audiocircle.com. I was a moderator of the DIY forum for a while. I met Dr. Geddes once and was invited to his house to hear his setup. I just always felt that the proportions of the Jazz Modules were just right! Nicer than my much larger M2s.

I think you used SEOS waveguides in a future iteration if I am not mistaken. I was an active participant in that thread and had something to do with their shape. I did the math on the profile. I was quite pleased when they measured as well as I had hoped. Too bad they are not longer available. It seems that is the missing link to do something similar in nature to the Jazz Modules. The 10" driver you used was also probably hard to replace?

...

They are fun too of course, but I’m enjoying Devon’s pop-art dot-screen woodgrain in particular.

Well THANK YOU Josh for your work on the SEOS waveguides!!

Yes I did use the SEOS waveguides for a while, they were superb.

The woofer used in the original Jazz Modules was the TAD TL-1102.

The Jazz Module concept is not dead yet, a suitable woofer is finally available, hoping to work on a waveguide later this year.

Great! I look forward to see what you come up with.

Luckily nobody has monopoly on beauty - but tolerance is definitely a virtue.

How would one go about selecting speakers for the poll? +200 pages have listed so many outrageous designs that any such poll would be... unwieldly to put it mildly. I am in agreement with @JoshK, most of these speakers qualify for a thread about the ugliest speakers.
