Veneering a minion is inhumane.
Veneering a minion is inhumane.
...inhuminion, maybe!Veneering a minion is inhumane.
Honestly, if these had an hdmi input (and I had a LOT more money), mounting two of these on either side of my tv would be my dream. Get a couple different custom art covers, wirelessly connect a B & O sub (or two!), and I would never have to look at speakers again - have to get tweeter height right, though...
Interesting. When I first saw these speakers I wondered if people would actually like the way they looked or if they were appreciated simply because they don't look like traditional speakers.Honestly, if these had an hdmi input (and I had a LOT more money), mounting two of these on either side of my tv would be my dream. In general, I don't find electronic equipment attractive. This goes for large and small appliances, laptops, TVs, etc. I recently spent too much on a Samsung Frame TV, and spent even more to have the wires hidden, so it really does look a lot like a piece of art on the wall. The A9s seem to fit my desire for "hidden" speakers" better than anything else out there, without sacrificing too much in the way of sound quality.Interesting. While they are definitely not my choice, I think it is wonderful that we have so many choices!
I stand with you 100% on all points and agree the Samsung Frame TV is the best looking TV out there. In my opinion the picture and especially the motion isn't as good as a Sony, but it definitely deserves to be the TV of choice if you must have a TV in a general living space. In general, I don't find electronic equipment attractive. Those are pretty striking. My compromise has been the KEF LS50 Wireless II, which I bought before the LS60 came out. I added 2 KC62 subs because they fit inside an Ikea Kallax I also use for a turntable and record storage. The LS50WIIs are very obviously speakers, and resemble in no way furniture, but their minimalist aesthetic (and great sound) make them pretty livable for me. The subs might work better placed elsewhere, but my listening space is so problematic anyway, so looks won out over ideal sound.I stand with you 100% on all points and agree the Samsung Frame TV is the best looking TV out there. I try to hide as much of my gear as possible, but make exceptions when it comes to speakers because, I discovered they sound terrible in a closed closet...
I readily admit that I choose my speakers at least partially based on aesthetics, but will not pick a terrible sounding one. I am considering how I might be able to DIY something along these lines with elevated audio performance. I like the midcentury look, but don't care for the performance hit.
