Most beautiful speakers in the world ?

Joseph Crowe is a known and reputed designer. He build very vintage style speakers, but ...
But they are an acquired taste perhaps? I appreciate their using science and I appreciate the woodworking effort, but aesthetically I find them quite difficult to appreciate.

And i also like those designs way more than those extra glossy towers posted above (independent of sound quality).
I agree that aesthetically both are off the charts in the questionable design department.

Nothing too far out in the multiverse :D

This is the Joseph Crowe Nighthawk Speaker System No.1636, his top of the line speaker that he build on order for about 50K$

It's a 3 way WMMTMMW config, where the woofers are in the cabinets on the back, and the MMTMM in the horn. The woofers are powered by a class D amp in the foolter, the rest by a tube amp that stands behind it. Joseph Crowe is a known and reputed designer. He build very vintage style speakers, but on measurements and science based and his designs work as intented (says his reputation). And i also like those designs way more than those extra glossy towers posted above (independent of sound quality).

Would look great as a partial in-wall installation.

If I had 100 rooms in my mansion, I would dedicate these speakers to the 60-ies room along with other appropriate decor and accessories. Accessories might actual make the whole experience special ;). Sadly, not happening in this multiverse at all, so will likely keep on hanging on to less cheeky designs.

There is an "Ugliest Speakers" thread on this forum, no? We're getting chocolate in our peanut butter, guys.

I actually like the diversity of the speakers posted. It’s providing insight and alternative views. My definition of beautiful is obviously very small as well as anybody else’s.

Yes, as I like to say, the defining characteristic of good taste is that everyone thinks they have it.

Perhaps a better way of saying it - the defining characteristic of good taste is that it is best not to be discussed - as there is no such thing as good taste.

We all have preferences that are more or less aligned with preferences of other people. Different cultures and backgrounds will have different perceptions of taste, which is not to say that any one of them is more true than the other.

Love this thread. The metal fang denture tweeters and infected swollen sphincter horn speakers get absolutely no reaction and the natural wood grain Joseph Crowes get outrage and disgust. Truly different strokes.
Yep!

Don't get me wrong, I love beautiful wood, but I also appreciate exquisite design. I find the Joseph Crowes work to be amateurish. I posted this JBL Paragon earlier in this thread.
In my opinion this is an example of beautiful wood and gorgeous design.

A completely tragic waste of nice wood.
