Finally, bookshelf speakers to match your Eames recliner.

The gap is about 80cm so you get a perfect cylinder wave at 100Hz and below. Going to higher frequencies you get a mix between cylinder an spherical wave with some cancellation at positions near the ceiling and floor. This behavior is much better compared to any standard tower or even bookshelf speaker in a real room.
Then, with floor and ceiling reflections, any WMTMW loudspeaker with height of about 170 cm should have cylindrical wave at 100 Hz and below - for example Nubert NuVero 170 (actually WWMTMW design, 7900 euros per pair), so in that regard Acapella Hyperion is nothing special.

Also, old Duntech/Dunlavy speakers fulfil the bill, and several other modern models I believe.

Few contenders

Just looking at this, I can feel my floor joists groaning!

PS: About the ceiling height discussion above — moving to a house with cathedral ceilings has been quite likely the single most effective audio tweak ever for me.

^ On the bright side, they've spaced the terminals nicely.

(For those of us who prefer spade lugs)
