Most Beautiful Songs - 1960 - 1979

I can't let the progressive rock genre be underrepresented in this thread. How 'bout Procol Harum's A Whiter Shade Of Pale (1967)

It's lovely, but it's been posted before.

Howsabout "In the Wake of Poseidon", King Crimson, 1970?:

Or "I've Seen All Good People', Yes, 1971:

"Poetry Man", Phoebe Snow, 1975:

Also from Phoebe Snow - Harpo's Blues, also 1975:

(Formerly) Cat Stevens, "Oh very young" - from Buddha and the Chocolate box. Brilliant.
He's had so many great songs, and, yes, many of them indeed beautiful.
Oh Very Young
makes me sniffle 'most every time. Father and Son can be a tough listen, too. ;)

....and Johnny B. Bach's "Aire on a G String" redone on by some English lads with a saturated Hammond B-3 and who knows what else....

Interesting cover of "Whiter Shade of Pale" from 1993. It doesn't include the "extra verses" but has a new intro...

Candi Staton is mostly now known for 'Young Hearts Run Free' (great song) but did some fine thing earlier in her career:

Candi Staton - I'm Just A Prisoner

Another recipient of that Willie Mitchell magic:

Ann Peebles - Trouble, Heartaches & Sadness

"Bridge Over Troubled Waters" has always seemed ethereally beautiful to me.
