Moondrop Paradise, Amazing curves!

8 ohm & 80dB/mW. Doesn't really seem as easy to drive as they make it out to be. Unless I'm misunderstanding something.

I don't like the treble peak either but this headphone would be so easy to fix with EQ. Very close to ordering a pair.
So I'm waiting for your impressions. I'm also considering ordering a pair.
I'm especially considered about the bass region as I would like to boost that area to more or lose match the Harman bass target, so I'm wondering if it can handle that without the distortion/crackling or other problems.

They have their own measurements of distortion but I don't know their track record in providing good distortion measurements.

Yes but we don't know level at which it was measured and also we dont know how the distortion is handled at higher spl, so...
waiting for measurements from @amirm

I would raise the 2K area just a bit too. It's the signature Hifiman dip in the upper mids, that makes certain recordings sound muddy as hell to me.

Disagree completely. I have the Susvara without any EQ applied at all. It's the clearest headphone I've heard along with Stealth and Expanse bar electrostatics

Ok, that’s fine. For me it depends completely on the way a recording has been mixed. On an Arya or Edition XS something like Father of the Bride by Vampire Weekend sounds great, but an album like WE by Arcade Fire just sounds muffled with the vocals buried deep in the mix. Nothing like my DCA Stealth at all.

The deepness of the Hifiman dip also depends on the model (and the perception on the overall tonal balance of each model).

Those two headphones don't even belong to the top tier levels in terms of clarity/resolution. The top level ones give that extra fine stuff that you miss on other headphones. In terms of resolution for me at least: Stealth = Susvara (despite the 2KHz dip) = Expanse > Utopia = HEDDphone 1 / HEDDphone 2 > all other non electrostatic headphone.

Not familiar with the Susvara so you may be right. I wasn’t really talking about “top tier levels” though, so I don’t really see how that’s relevant for the subject at hand. In the two mentioned models the dip is very much noticeable and at least price wise they’re more in line with this new Moondrop over ear than the Susvara.

Tried to place an order on Shenzen Audio website, but it goes from 299$ to 337$ because of taxes. Cannot understand why. Should go to Taobao...

Problem of Para(and Venus) is not the bass roll off in the measured graph.

The stiff joints, large unit, thin pads combined it is very hard to get the correct fit.

When the seal is broken the bass rolls off much faster.

So even with the EQ, bass will sound wrong 9 out of 10 times.

I like moondrop products, but just can't recommend any of their headphones...

Bass roll off was measured with in ear microphone(ECEbl) for use in BRIR

I hope they sent Amir one for a review.
Yes definitely. If it has low enough distortion, it is definitely a good buy and a very strong contender to other planars like the Sundara and also the Sennheiser HD6XX.

While more expensive I’d recommend waiting for measurements of the Audeze MM-100 before deciding between on the Para.

Well, I've just ordered.

I have dozen of headphones from AKG accumulated over the decades , it will be the first planar for me. I am very curious.
