New Moondrop Chu IEM has excellent tonality, metal body and costs only 20 usd (or 22 usd with mic, as I bought).

Crin rated it very highly.

Crazy flat, seems like a smart choice for mixing and monitoring

Not kidding I have never, ever tried in-ears.

For this price, I'm gonna check them out.
We are living a golden age of IEMs. The chinese are now dominating the market with many brands, and the overall market refining their responses to target curves. Crinacle and others have been massive in helping measure and rank them. His website with the rank and graph comparisson tool are priceless imo.

They look pretty nice, the bass is pretty much the same as my Tin T4, which is enough for listening in quiet environments but lacking if you want to use them on the go. And the ergonomics look much better than the garbage it replaces in Moondrop's lineup, the Spaceship.

I took a punt and got some from Shenzhenaudio. Can’t go wrong for $20 with free shipping. The set of tips they come with cost $13 alone. Crazy!

The IEM market is really crazy. I really don't see the need for bulky closed back over ears with wonky tuning anymore. Unless you just hate things in your ear.
The market arrived at a point where you now have great tuning in a $20 IEM.
I still enjoy a good open back more though EQ is mandatory for most of them.
Not so with many IEMs

Those eartips they come with alone are $13 from Moondrop (and worth it!), so $7 gets you an extra pair of well tuned IEMs. Ridiculous. I want to buy these just to gift them to somebody.

The "bridge" between both worlds are the Audeze LCDi3 and LCDi4 models. They have a weird tonality but very low distortion, so very easy to EQ. After that they sound like a big open Audeze headphone and still comfortable. Expensive though...

Back to the Chu. :)

@crinacle can you comment on Chu vs Leá already?

Also, AutoEQ integration is an awesome addition to Cringraph. Thank you!
